Self-Metaphor Poem

With the voice I express through high and low notes,
I comfort people when listened to.
I start off sounding seemingly quiet
As time pasts, my loudness comes through.

With a tune that is outgoing,
Onto a tune that makes you sigh,
I give content and later
You’re sad maybe with tears in the eyes.

Mainly comes a sweet sounding tune
That makes you warm and thankful,
So I excite people with my friendliness
Making you feel like my sisters and my brothers.

Short in length is who I am,
But larger than you have seen and heard.
I have simplicity and am lighter than many others
and less serious in character.

With different notes and different tunes,
My true personality comes out.
I express the happy and sad in me
And make you jubilant, distressed throughout.

I am like a Sonatina.

Journal #27: Self- Metaphor Brainstorm

I would compare myself to a Sonatina. A Sonatina is a piano song type/piano genre. As much as I enjoy playing various Sonatinas on the piano, I am somewhat alike to this piano genre. Most Sonatinas are shorter in length than other piano melodies, such as Sonatas. Sonatinas are shorter in length that others, and I am short also that other people. Sonatinas, start of with a quiet sounding tune, just like how I am shy and quiet at first, especially when I am around people that I don't really know. As Sonatinas progresses, the songs sometimes go into a much louder tone. Within Sonatinas, there are emotional, sad sounding, happy sounding, or harsh sounding melodies that come about. Just like Sonatinas, I have my outgoing moments, moments where I can sound harsh to others by mistake, my moments I feel happy and I joke around with other people. Overall, Sonatinas have a nice, sweet sound. I am a nice person that shows respect to the people around me. I also have my serious moments, where I am focused in what I do, just like how Sonatinas have their serious and loud sounds.
